Cake Decorating 101

This past Wednesday, the Mia Maids and Laurel met at the church for some instruction on cake decorating!  We had Sister Medina (who is VERY knowledgeable) come in and share her tip and tricks.  We started out by talking about the different "thicknesses" of frosting and when do use each type.  We then watched as she demonstrated different techniques and then we all went to town!  (Remember, she mentioned that we could go to the Wilton website and get the yummy frosting recipe she used!)

Girls Camp 2011

What an awesome time we had up at camp this year! I know all of you are soooooo excited to see the pictures!  There are literally a couple of hundred that I am going to be putting together in a slideshow (plus showing 200 here would take up pages and pages of the blog! LOL) So, until the final slideshow is done, here is just a few to remind us of all the fun we had together!! :)
Our time was slotted with lots of fun things - like our cool crafts! cooking each meal over the campfire, games (with our favorites being Ninja Destruction and "I Have Never") hanging out around the campfire and spending time at the Obstacle Course...
Ninja Destruction - Cheyenne and Aimee were usually the last two standing!
During our Service Project
On Wednesday Night, all of the wards presented a skit (that we had about 15-20 minutes to come up with and practice!).  You girls were amazing!!!
props to Bro. Beath who was up for anything!  Although, I'm sure he was quite relieved when we booted him out of the skit!
and we can't forget the few brave souls that took on the Polar Bear Plunge bright and early Friday Morning!  Way to Go Jessica, Emma, Corinne, Riley, Bishop and Bro Dodds!)
I'm so grateful to each of you for making this year of camp one I'll never forget!  I love you all and enjoyed every minute up at camp with you girl!! :)

Quilt Squares on July 6th

This week was our Personal Progress meeting with our Advisers :)  We are all so excited with how much you girls have been working on your goals! When we weren't out meeting with our leaders, we were being instructed on how to make quit squares by Cheyenne and Sister Wing.  In preparation for the Women's Broadcast this fall, the church has asked each sister 14 years old and up to make a quilt square for humanitarian blankets. We thought this activity would be perfect to get going on that "assignment".  With it being summer and our numbers a little on the low side, we were excited to have the Beehives help on this project!
