Book of Mormon Challenge Reminder

Book of Mormon challenge. We are starting on our third week of the book of Mormon challenge of reading one chapter a day for the next 10 weeks leading up to conference. If you started at the beginning of the book of Mormon you should be in 1 Nephi chapter 15. Remember you don't have to start from the beginning just start where you are and keep going. I would love to hear how you are doing and who is doing our challenge.....
  Thank you Kimberly Wing

Wednesday August 1st

This week's activity is the TALENT SHOW. It should be a lot of fun, watching and sharing your talents. It is a combined activity with the Young Men.
 Where: At the church
When: 7:00pm
Also, this activity can help you with your Personal Progress!
  •   Individual Worth # 5 for being in the talent show.
  •  And you can use Knowledge # 3 for attending the talent show.
If you are going to apply this activity toward your Personal Progress, I would STRONGLY suggest that you read through them before the talent show so you will understand how to apply them.

Book of Mormon Challange

Our Book of Mormon challenge has started!
This challenge is for all young women and leaders.  Your families are welcome to join in. We have 12 weeks till conference, our challenge is to read one chapter a night for the next 12 weeks.  If you are starting  from the very start of the Book of Mormon then this challenge will end with you in Alma 49. But I am not saying you have to start this from the beginning of the Book of Mormon. I am saying start from where ever you are now. I am just starting the Book of Mormon over and would encourage any of you who haven't been reading and need a fresh start to start over. I believe by reading the Book of Mormon daily it will give you personal strength through your Dailey struggles. You will gain knowledge. I love Sister Clemente's example of reading the Book of Mormon, and writing about inspirational thought in her journal. She is using this method in her virtue project. I am also going to make this a goal of mine. This challenge is for all the young women.  Even if you are on vacation or out of town please join us in the challenge. Enjoy reading!  Love Sister Wing

Pillow Cases for Cancer Patients

Pillow case for cancer patients!  The stake Relief Society is doing a humanitarian project. They are asking the wards to make pillow cases for kids with cancer.  As a young women's group we are going to help make some in August for our Personal Progress night. Dose anyone want to help me in teaching and putting this together for the young women's? This would be a great project for Good Works. Our Relief Society has a goal of making 401. I would really like to make a lot. So, we are having a fabric drive to help make this possible.   It take 1 yard for each pillow case, but we sew 3/4 of a yard of one fabric to 1/4 a yard of another. To make this really easy. If you would donate two yards of material (cotton, or flannel) that match then it would work really well. These are for kids and teen, both boys and girls so keep that in mind when donating the material. We will begin collecting material on Wednesdays and Sundays, for the next few weeks.  Mark your calendars for August 8th.  call Sister Wing if you have any questions.
