Aimee Receives her Young Womanhood Recognition

We are all so proud of Aimee for completing her Personal Progress!!  She was presented the Medallion in Sacrament Meeting last Sunday (she chose the Silver Medallion ;) and then we recognized her last night at New Beginnings. Completing the program is an honorable achievement and I hope that each of you will work towards gaining a testimony of personal progress and continue working on the experiences and projects!  Each of your leaders is in the process of earning the Young Womanhood Recognition as well... Together we can do it!!
Congratulations Aimee!! I know what you've learned will be beneficial to you your whole life!  We love you!

New Beginnings!

Last night went so wonderful!  I was so proud of each of you girls!  You followed through on your assignments and made the night a success!!  I think the Pirate theme was really fun and we were able to inform the parents along our journey of Seeking the Treasures of the Young Women!!
The Mia Maids went early and set up!  I loved how they made the RS room look like a Pirate Ship - even down to the arrangement of the chairs to depict the actual ship and complete with a wheel and Sail!!
I think you all sang I Walk By Faith just beautifully and Rachael and Avery's accompaniment added to that beauty!  Also a big thanks to to those two violinist for our Prelude music!  It was perfect!
The refreshments that the Beehives supplied were Scrumptious!!  Everything looked so inviting!
and then here is everyone looking like the Mateys they are!

Thank you to everyone!  I hope you guys enjoyed the evening and had fun!!

Sister Vogt's testimony

I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to share with each of you how deeply I was touched by the Fireside that was given by the Institute choir this past Wednesday. The truths that were sung and shared that night spoke to my spirit! Our ancestors and early members of the church had so many hardships and struggles.  I am so grateful for their testimonies and faith that that sustained them through all they had to endure.  I want to just add my testimony to theirs and declare that I know Heavenly Father is there for each of us.  He will never leave us alone.  When we are faced with hard things and challenges in life.... he is there waiting for us to call upon him. It might still be extremely hard... but he will strengthen us and answer the righteous desires of our hearts.  I am proud to call myself a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  The gospel truths have helped me so much throughout my life and have brought me such great joy! It was wonderful having my spirit renewed with such powerful music on Wednesday and I'm so glad that most of us were able to attend!  I love each one of you... I love my Savior and I love my Heavenly Father!  and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Feb 16th - STAKE YM/YW ACTIVITY

For this weeks activity, we will be going to the Stake Center for a special program put on by the Institute Choir!

It will be in the Chapel so we need to be in Church Dress.  We also want to sit together - so we will be providing rides for you :)

For those that haven't completed the Required Value Experience #3 under KNOWLEDGE, here's your chance! Not sure what #3 is... well, keep on reading to be reminded :)

Required Value Experience #3: Memorize Article of Faith number thirteen and recite it to a parent, a leader, or another adult. (We do this each week!) Then visit a museum or exhibit or attend a performance that involves dance, music, speech, or drama. (Coming to this Uplifting night will definitely qualify!) Using this article of faith as a guide, evaluate what you saw and heard. In your journal write your thoughts about how you can use this article of faith as a guide for all you do so the Holy Ghost will be your constant companion. Share those thoughts with a parent or leader. (Finish up the journal writing at home and then share your thoughts at our next Personal Progress Night and you've got a Required Experience completed! Yay!)

Hi!

Hi and Welcome to the blog of the Young Women in the Meridian 6th Ward!  We wanted to have a place to keep our history for the year and to keep the girls and their parents informed on what is going on each week.  We are so excited about the activities that the girls have planned for this year and know it will be a wonderful adventure for all of us!
