Having Fun at Ice World!

For November's Combined Young Women activity, the girls planned to go Ice Skating!  It was a super cold night but we had a great turn out and had fun strutting our stuff out on the ice!  A couple of the girls had never been Ice Skating and it was wonderful seeing some of the more experienced skaters in our group, help them out (Thanks Cami!!).  It was unanimous that if we go again, that is should be a summer activity - instead of going from the cold car, to the cold ice rink, back to a cold car! November 30th Activity

Wednesday's activity we are going ICE SKATING!!

Mia Maids Carving Pumpkins

The Mia Maids met over at Rachael's house this week to get their groove on (or should I say "carve" on!). They each carved intricate designs as the leaders admired their creations!  Sister Seely, Sister Vogt and Sister Harlow were all so impressed by the creativity that each of the girls displayed with their works of art!

YOUNG WOMEN IN EXCELLENCE

Tonight for Young Womens we had our YOUNG WOMEN IN EXCELLENCE program!  We had come up with a "Court Room" Theme where each of the girls were put on "trial" for Standing As Witnesses of Christ.  As each of them were called to the Stand to testify, they proved that they indeed DO stand as witnesses of Christ by participating in the Personal Progress program.  Each girl took turn sharing a project they had worked on throughout the year.  At the end of the night, they were each found GUILTY by Judge Seeley and were sentenced by Bishop Forsberg.  We then indulged in "Guilty Goodies" made by the Mia Maids. The Beehives were in charge of the decorations which included Wanted Posters of each girl, handcuffs made from construction paper, and a scroll of the laws.  Each of the girls wore their Red Girl's Camp T-shirts and the whole night was a lot of fun!  Avery and Riley played piano pieces that they'd learned, Karly played the cello, we watched a video of Elizabeth canning for her project, Hannah showcasing her family history scrapbook, Emma with the quilt she made, a cross-stitch by Jessica and sewing projects by others (Rachael and Cheyenne).  Emily shared what she'd learned from reading the Book of Mormon in less than 40 days, Crystal shared her experience of teaching her younger brother how to play football and Corinne showed us her newly acquired knitting skill! We are all so pleased and proud of each of you and the things you do to improve your talents! Participating in the Personal Progress program brings you closer to Christ and helps you along your path in becoming the best YOU there is!

Upcoming Combined Activity for Sept. 21st

You won't want to miss this weeks activity - the YW Olympics!  The Beehives will be putting this on for our combined activity.  Come in your athletic attire (complete with running shoes!) to ensure you the best performance!  See you all Wednesday!!

STANDARDS NIGHT

Recap of September Activites

September has come and with it, school has started!  The first Wednesday this month (which is usually a joint activity with the YM - but will be replaced with Standards Night later this month) so we all got together at the church and made spectacular plans for Young Women in Excellence (being held on Wed. Oct 19th!).  We have decided to have a Courtroom theme where each of the YW will be put "on trial" for being accused of "Standing as a Witness of Christ".  The girls came up with some pretty need ideas!  We worked on our "WANTED" posters that will be on display that night as well as made assignments.  The Beehives will be in charge of decorating the R.S. room to look like a courtroom and the Mia Maids will be responsible for our yummy refreshments!  Parents - this activity is for you!  Where we'll get to see first hand what your girls have been working under their Personal Progress :)

The 2nd week of September was a Personal Progress night.  Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, we dedicate to PP so we can help, encourage and support the girls on their goals and progression towards a more spiritual life.  We also take turns between the classes on decorating the bulletin board around the month's value. The value for September is Faith and the Beehives did a remarkable job on the board this month!

Temple Trip to Twin Falls

With the Boise Temple closed for renovations, we now get the opportunity to have Temple Trips!  We were able to have our very first one over the Labor Day Weekend - on September 3rd.  We met at the church at 1:30 and were on our way by 2pm. Afterwards, we all went over to Brother Dodds parents home for a homestyle BBQ!  Everyone who was able to attend had a wonderful experience!
